Hello! Today we’re very excited to announce a new version of fluid tank for our MicroFogger 5 range of smoke machines. Although it may not seem like a big change, this upgraded fluid tank makes a great deal of difference when using your MicroFogger on a daily basis. Let’s elaborate:
One of the trickiest parts of designing the MicroFogger is making sure that the liquid does not seep out of the fluid tank when the device is in storage. Since the fluid tank has a permeable material on the inside of the heating coil, it is essential to have a fully airtight seal around it, otherwise atmospheric pressure will start pushing the liquid out. With the MicroFogger 5 we introduced a removable tank design that allowed you to store it separately from the device. This made life a lot easier but on some occasions, such as after transport, it was still possible for liquid to seep out which led to a sputtering effect unless the Q-tip procedure was conducted prior to use.
With the new fluid tank, all of these concerns have been fully resolved! A set of larger O-ring seals, a metal cap construction and a much tighter fill port gasket work together to provide a robust sealing solution that doesn’t let any leaks or seeps happen even during extended storage. These upgraded tanks now come standard with all MicroFogger 5s purchased starting in May of 2024 and existing customers can use the coupon “NEWTANK” to get 75% off of an upgraded tank, which also comes with a fresh heating coil.
Although this new tank is greatly improved, it still has certain limitations that are unavoidable. For instance, large pressure differences such as those experienced when flying will cause seepage to occur so we recommend emptying out the fluid tank prior to taking it on the plane with you.
